Dwando & the Institute

Dwando (The Conflict) is a story which revolves around Sudipta (played by Ananya Chatterjee) who faces a serious ethical dilemma involving the lives of her husband & and an unborn child from a relationship outside her marriage. In this situation, a renowned neurosurgeon (played by Soumitra Chatterjee), who is deeply involved in struggling to build a world class Neurosciences Institute (Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata) almost single handedly, becomes crucially involved in the life of Sudipta and subtly maneuvers her thought process to guide her choice. In this process he saves both lives using his surgical skills for one and humane approach for the other. The story was written and directed by Suman Ghosh (from an idea based on the movie Decalogue II by the Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski) and was presented by Databazaar Media Ventures.

Why I-NK was founded : Some true stories

Devastated at the lack of treatment facilities in Kolkata for patients suffering from neurological disorders, I-NK, a unique neurological facility, was built by the eminent neurosurgeon Dr.R.P.Sengupta. His mission was to build a not-for-profit institution that would serve the requirements of the people of Kolkata and the North-Eastern states of India. I-NK is the result of his commitment to render timely and specialised services to accident cases and patients with neurological disorders.
